California-born Sarah Saturnino is a Mexican-American mezzo-soprano who is finishing up her second year as a Young Artist in LA Opera’s Domingo-Colburn-Stein program.
This season she sang the roles of Frida in El Ultimo Sueno de Frida y Diego and the Maid in Der Zwerg, closing out the season as Flora in La Traviata. Last season she was a Grand Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera’s Laffont Competition while for LA Opera sang the title role in The Rape of Lucretia, Jocabed in Moses and Emilia in Otello, which marked her mainstage debut withe company.
This season, Sarah made her role debut in the title role of Bizet’s Carmen with Opera Santa Barbara.
